Mr. Anthony Annan is a co-founder, CEO and Chief Investment Officers of ICA. Anthony has over 10 years of experience in making equity investments and developing SMEs in Africa.
Anthony comes with a vast amount of experience in business development services and MSME financing. His track record includes being an originator, designer, implementer and manager of business development services programs, SME fund management and MSME financing products.
Anthony Annan initiated and developed the Quasi-Equity Investment Fund being managed by the Business Development Fund (BDF) of Rwanda whilst providing consulting services to the Rwanda Development Board as an SME Business Development Services Advisor. He developed the Quasi Equity financing product together with all the tools and templates required for BDF to manage Quasi-Equity investments. Mr. Annan then went on to work as a Fund Management advisor to BDF where he trained and built the capacity of BDF's Investment Team and Local Service Providers to manage Quasi-Equity investments. Through the Quasi Equity Product, Anthony supported BDF to invest in Community Processing Centers (Medium Scale Factories) across various districts of Rwanda under the Rwanda Ministry of Trades program to promote rural industrialization.

Mr. Annan has provided consulting services to the African Development Bank per Expanded Supervision Audits and Performance Evaluations on AfDB's Private Equity Investments and Lines of Credit offered to Banks such as the Standard Bank of South Africa, The Currency Exchange Fund, The Africa Sustainable Forestry Fund, The Africa Health Fund, Investment for Health in Africa, Access Bank Liberia-Microfinance, Trustco Finance Limited, African Agriculture Fund and the West Africa Emerging Markets Fund.
Other consulting assignments performed by Anthony includes but not limited to DoT Rwanda/Master Card Foundation on Youth and Women Access to Finance; Palladium International Limited/Propcom Markafi where he developed a strategy for facilitating access to finance for agriculture value chains in Northern Nigeria; Ethiopia's Ministry of Finance/Global Green Growth Institute where he developed Ethiopia's Private Sector Engagement Strategy for Climate Finance. Anthony provides consulting services to the Global Green Growth Institute and the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation as a Climate Finance Advisor for Private Sector and Private Public Partnership Climate Finance. As a Climate Finance Advisor, Anthony has been working with the Rwanda Green Climate Fund (FONERWA) to set up various VC funds to deepen FONERWA's engagement with the private sector for climate action.
Anthony Annan holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from Valdosta State University in Georgia, USA and an MBA with a dual major in Marketing and Information Systems from Georgia State University in Georgia, USA. He also holds an MS in Management with a major in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy New York, USA. He is a Certified Member of the Association of Operations Management (CPIM) and Six Sigma/ACE trained.
Mr. Annan was an adjunct lecture at both Ashesi University and Knutsford University Colleges in Ghana. Courses taught include Entrepreneurship, Principles of Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Service Quality Management and Six Sigma, International Marketing and Supply Chain Management
